Loan Forgiveness
Loan forgiveness encourages students to pursue degrees and employment in specific fields. These programs forgive part or all of your educational loan debt if you fulfill certain work-related requirements.
You may be eligible for loan forgiveness if you have a degree and work in one of the fields below.
Agriculture Education Loan Forgiveness Program
You may qualify for this program if you earned an agriculture degree and return to Pennsylvania to work in a qualifying field. PHEAA will forgive up to $2,000 per year on outstanding AES-administered, federally insured student loans for each year of satisfactory employment. Learn more.
Federal Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program
You may qualify for this program if you teach full-time at a low-income school or teach certain subjects, and meet other qualifications. The Federal government could forgive up to $5,000 (up to $17,500 for certain mathematics, science, and special education teachers) on outstanding federal and certain consolidation loans.
