Workshops for High School Counselors
The 2008-09 Counselor Workshops, sponsored by PHEAA and PASFAA (PA Association of Financial Aid Administrators), will be held in November. There are 41 workshops scheduled at locations across the Commonwealth.
Registration
Schools will receive a special invitation from the Regional Director who serves the school. The invitation will include a registration form and a list of the workshop dates and sites in the region; however, counselors are not restricted to attending workshops in their region.
To register online:
- Choose a workshop date and location.
- Select the “register” link.
- Complete and submit the registration form.
Topics
The workshops will provide:
- Updates on all state and federal programs relating to student financial aid for higher education.
- Admissions requirements and information about special circumstances for students trying to enroll in college.
- An opportunity to learn about the college and scholarship search website, EducationPlanner.
All counselors who attend a workshop will receive Act 48 credits. Staff from community organizations that work with youth in grades 9-12 are also welcome to attend.
